Qeshm Island with 1500 aquare km. is the largest island in the Persian Gulf. It is larger than many countries in the world.Residence of Qeshm are Moslems and they depend on fishing and sea trade for their living. Qeshm is located in a very and moist area. The high humidity of Qehsm has caused only the few months of the cold seasons to be tolerable for the none-locals.Loft is a village in the rural area of Salakh in the city of Qeshm, in Hormozgan Province. The unique architectural features, as well as the environmental context of Loft with its potential are among the reasons why Loft has been selected for this blog.Providing correct information about Loft, which is located in the sea border of Iran, could help to introduce the cultural and social potential of that region to the world. Many areas in this Island have been announced as one of the three "free" business, economic and industrial zones of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Qeshm Comprehensive Design has paid very little attention to Social/Cultural values of its local residence in its latest proposals for the island's future development plans. The general characteristics of Loft's architecture is affected by the architecture of the central part of Iran and Arabic architecture of the Persian Gulf region incorporating central court yards, wind catchers, wind catchers, and arches (Sabats).Decorative elements and the plaster works take after Arabic architecture, while major physical elements of design reflect Iranian architecture.
